Shadow Cat
By Delaney Kevyn Buchanan
Dedicated to Hollyleaf and the cats of ShadowClan
Orange eyes flicker out of sight,
Against a pelt as black as night.
A thin tail brushes the ground,
Trembling slightly with hidden fright.
Silent paws; carefully set down
Make not a single sound.
This talent they will always keep,
The Shadow Cats will never be found!
The silence is so utterly deep,
The whole world seems to fall asleep.
An owl silently takes flight,
Three feathers drift down in a heap.
There is no moon to shed it’s light
Upon the lonely world tonight.
The Shadow Cats regret the sight
Of dawn bringing up the morning light,
The morning light…
